Take a closer look at the following four points during the injection mold process
In fact, an injection mold is a process for producing plastic materials, but you still need to pay attention to it during the injection molding process, because carelessness will deform the material and make it impossible to use. And the mold has the nickname "Mother of Industry", which shows how important the mold is. Here are four points to pay attention to when making injection molds.
1. Good abrasion resistance. The gloss and precision of the surface of injection molded parts are directly related to the abrasion resistance of the surface of the injection mold cavity, especially when glass fibers, inorganic fillers and some pigments are added to certain plastics. The body flows together at idle speed in the flow channel and cavity. The friction on the cavity surface is very high. If the material is not wear-resistant, it will wear out quickly and the quality of the plastic parts will be impaired.
2. The dimensional stability of injection molding is good, and the temperature of the injection mold cavity should reach 300°C or more. Try to use tempered materials as much as possible, otherwise it is easy to change the structure slightly, which can also cause the size of the change.
The mold parts that are easy to process are mostly made of metal materials, and some structures and shapes are still complicated. In order to shorten the production cycle and improve efficiency, the mold material must be easy to process into the shape and accuracy required by the drawing.
3. The good polishing performance of injection molded parts usually requires good gloss and surface condition, so the roughness of the cavity surface is very small, so the cavity surface must be processed, such as polishing, grinding, etc. Therefore, the selected steel should not contain coarse impurities and pores.
4. The process of heat treatment is to improve the usability of the material. Therefore, many molds will have a heat treatment process. This treatment method may change the size of the mold. Therefore, it is preferable to use workable and pre-hardenable steel.
